Job opportunities and basic skills
Everyone needs to read to get a job or advance in a current job. Our FREE, JOBS program teaches essential skills for employment such as writing effective resumes and cover letters, applying for jobs online, and interview skills.
We’ve updated the curriculum to specifically address the current climate of employment; for example, focusing on applying for careers in early childhood education. Careers as early learning professionals
JOBS sessions are 6 weeks, in-person in the Reading Center at Goodwill or online.
Each class features an interactive presentation with career specialists from the KLC, MI Works!, and Goodwill Industries.
Thursdays, 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. January 12: Introduction and Career Exploration
January 19: Researching & Applying for Jobs
January 26: Workplace Expectations & Marketable Skills
February 2: Resumes & Cover Letters
February 9: Preparing for Interviews
February 16: Practice Interviews
